Fred's Editorals

Fred Thompson has re-vamped his website in preparation for his announcement rumored to be in the next few weeks. The new ImWithFred site has a few new features including more content on his background and principles. It certainly looks like they plan to add more meat to the site over the next few weeks, but I’m happy to see Fred’s #1 principle is Federalism.
He also has a new video posted on the topic of Federalism and limiting the reach of the Federal Government.

I agree with the Senator when he says when there is a problem politicians should be asking themselves “Should government be doing this? And if so, then at what level of government?”.

Fred Thompson responds to Michael Moore’s challenge to debate him. This is just awesome. All this got me thinking, if the election was decided by an arm wrestling tournament, who do you think would win? My money is still on Fred Thompson.

Except:

From the enactment of the Bill of Rights in 1791 until the 20th Century, no one seriously argued that the Second Amendment dealt with anything but an individual right — along with all other nine original amendments. Kates writes that not one court or commentator denied it was a right of individual gun owners until the last century. Judges and commentators in the 18th and 19th century routinely described the Second Amendment as a right of individuals. And they expressly compared it to the other rights such as speech, religion, and jury trial. (ABC Radio Networks)
